Someone is telling me and my mom that retreats conducted by our religious organization(Youth for Christ) is just brainwashing us… mind you he is an ATHEIST….i wouldn’t really mind it if it was any random person out on the block… but gaaahd he is a close friends of a friend of my mom…. i would assume he would not judge us that way since he is surrounded by Filipinos and to throw in comments like that is very insulting…. WHo is he to question our faith? We never question his faith… we never judged him for him being an Atheist and accepted him as a friend even though he is a non believer… but for him to judge our religion? Who are you to do that? You dnt knw shit (excuse my language) on what we do in our religious retreats so dont go on telling that ppl just brainwash kids during those retreats!!( if i know he thinks that during retreats there is like a speaker who drones on about God and How we should follow him and blah blah blah) mind you what we do in our retreats is that we sing to God for the blessings that he has given to us… we build relationship with other families in our community and strengthen our ties with families and friends thru God and we are reminded everytime during those retreats to be humble and forgiving for God is also forgiving and help those in need… Im not gonna elaborate more of what we do(cuz its gonna be a bit long) but yeah…. we never judged you so dont judge our faith… you should be glad we aren’t criticizing you for making subtle sarcastic comments on our religion and for using “JESUS!” expression on us (mind you that is very disrespectful since you are uttering Gods name when basically you dont even believe in him). Sorry for this post… but it has come to a point where im literally ready to tackle on him and make eat every word that he has said…. you should be glad that i respect you though you dnt respect us and im not like some american kids who talk back to their elders… Im really sorry but i just have to rant…I dont care if i get hate or anything… but i just need to let this out… pleas try to learn and respect each others religion, culture and practices… if that is how they do it then learn to RESPECT… everybody wants to earn respect but how can one earn respect when you dont know how to give respect! I just hate it… you can talk bad about anything under the sun… be it my face… how i wear my clothes or whatever… but once you talk bad about my religion and my God that is the time you are crossing the line!!!
